In keeping with our Back to School month here at Market Viewpoint, we wanted to drive home to you the importance of continuing your growth both on a professional and personal level. From classes, to peer based groups, self-study programs to even sitting down for a cup of coffee with someone who you perceive as being “farther along” in your career field than you are – the opportunities for continuing education are boundless.
There are always free classes out there for your continuing education and growth. Check out websites that have a local presence in your area, Meetup.com, or even message boards online for your industry where you can start a new thread for a group if none in your area exist. If none of the free classes available strike your fancy, check out some of the few good ones that you do not mind paying for, just get out there and keep learning everything you can to enrich yourself.
Napoleon Hill coined the term “Mastermind Group” in his 1937 book Think and Grow Rich – these groups are defined as a small club of like-minded advanced talents who meet periodically for mutual brainstorming/accountability sessions. Mastermind groups are a fantastic way to continue learning (both in life and business) while helping your peers and colleagues do the same.
No matter the method, continuing education is vital for the survival of your personal well-being and your career in the long run. Or – in the words or W. Edwards Deming “It is not necessary to change. Survival is not mandatory.” Here’s to you – here’s to not only surviving, but thriving!
