Becoming More Inspired to Achieve Your Mystery Shopping Goals

A continuous flow of shopping assignments and a more quantifiable increase in income – perhaps these are some of your goals as a mystery shopper.

It’s always fun to imagine what we would be like a year or two from now. As mystery shoppers, we would love to see ourselves becoming more stable in the shopping business, earning more income, and receiving more assignments.

Setting up goals and forming them in our minds is part of the path to success. But, we should always keep in mind that we still have to undergo a process in order to achieve these goals. As mystery shoppers, we need to strive to work hard and do an excellent job on every assignment in order to create a positive impression with mystery shopping companies and earn the right to receive more assignments.

There are no shortcuts to achieving these goals. The key is to set your goals with the right intentions and then set in place certain actions to be sure you achieve them.

How do you do this?

Take the time to imagine what you want to have this time next year. Set your goals both in your thoughts and in writing. When you think about your goals, you become inspired to work hard to achieve them. But then, as you get caught up in daily life, that inspiration can sometimes be lost.   Putting you goals in writing will help you maintain that inspiration and drive to achieve them.

Be realistic with your goals. It’s easy to let your thoughts run wild and envision grandiose things.  It’s great to have those larger long term goals, but create smaller, short term goals along the way, which will break the larger goal down into smaller, more manageable steps.  Achieving success is encouraging and serves as a motivator, so you want to set yourself up to be able to do so as frequently as possible.

Finally, set your goals within a year-long timeframe and not beyond. Life changes, and you want to keep your goals relevant to where you are. So, take it one step at a time and allow yourself the ability to be flexible as new opportunities unfold.
