You agree to work for some invisible scheduler who contacts you in cyber space. This mysterious individual connects you to a mystery shopping provider’s website where you find out details of the shop: what you are to look for and how to interact with the salespeople at a local business.

You read the instructions, print out forms, scrupulously review the scenario and take time to properly perform your shop. Sometimes you even have to lay out cash for a product you don’t care to own.

You are told you will be paid 30 to 60 days in the future. And you rely on our word that it will all work the way it is supposed to. 

The Client

On the other side of the business, mystery shopping providers have contracted with a client to whom they have promised to obtain information that is vital to their business for training, planning and financial decision making.

The client believes that the mystery shopping company will deliver real observations of business interactions at the locations they own and manage.

The mystery shopping company spends hours creating forms, instructions and training materials for mystery shoppers like you; invisible people found in cyberspace who promise they will read instructions, perform the shop to specification and write the results in legible, understandable language.

It’s truly amazing that this works day in and day out, year after year.

Not always perfectly, but good, informative mystery shop reports are delivered to clients on a daily basis.

Trust: It’s one of those intangibles.

Merriam-Webster tells us trust is the belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest, effective, etc.

We all take chances in this business – the shopper, the client and the mystery shopping company. Each of us is responsible for doing our part of the job correctly.

We trust you to perform your shops according to instruction and submit on time. We ask you to trust that the scenario we assign is what our client wants and needs; that the form is just as long or short as it needs to be; and that you will be paid according to our payment policy for a shop that is done correctly and submitted on time.

It’s the only way this is all going to work!
