Be Clear About What You Want

Angela Megasko of discusses how being clear about your mystery shopping  goals helps shoppers and schedulers alike.On a daily basis, your inbox is filled with multiple solicitations from different mystery shopping companies.

Wanting to make the most out of every trip, you check your calendar and try to figure out where and when you can shop. You respond as soon as possible saying you want 3 shops in a certain city so that you can get the most of your mileage. Then, one company says the shop has been filled and the other says you can only have one shop! What’s a shopper to do when they want to make the most money with the least expense? 

  • When you apply for multiple shops, email the scheduler telling them that you can ONLY take shops in Podunk if you can also get the other one in Nowhere Land. We have asked our schedulers to look out for these requests, and to try to honor them WHEN POSSIBLE.
  • As a shopper, you must be clear as to what will work for you so that we do not waste a lot of time going back and forth with email about the assignment. Tell us BOTH or NEITHER, if that is how it will work for you.
  • Also, please be sure to read the solicitation carefully. We’ve had shoppers say “yes” to a shop, but then call us to say they thought it was only a phone call.

Knowing the details of what you are applying for and being as exact as possible as to what will work for you will help all of us – shoppers and schedulers alike – to be more efficient and make more money!
